Forklift rental cannot be reduced to one standard price. Two jobs with the same duration may require very different machines and therefore different quotes.
What determines the rental price?
1. Load capacity
A compact truck for light loads is not priced like a high-capacity forklift. The actual maximum weight and load centre must be calculated.
2. Lift height and mast
Required height, mast type and closed height affect the configuration. Residual capacity must also be checked because a forklift may not retain its full nominal capacity at high lift heights.
3. Electric or diesel
Electric trucks are generally used indoors; diesel can suit outdoor and demanding work. Autonomy, charger, floor and daily hours affect the choice.
4. Duration
A few days covers a short-term requirement. For several weeks or months, the quote is calculated for the full period.
5. Transport
Delivery and collection depend on distance, weight and machine dimensions. The town or postcode is therefore required.
6. Working hours and conditions
One hour a day in a warehouse is different from several shifts outdoors. Ramps, uneven floors, dust, moisture and attachments may require another configuration.
Information needed for an accurate quote
- Load weight and dimensions.
- Maximum lift height.
- Indoor or outdoor use.
- Duration and approximate date.
- Daily hours.
- Location and transport requirement.
Do not choose only by the lowest price
A cheap machine without enough residual capacity, autonomy or suitable dimensions can stop the job and create higher costs. Compare equivalent solutions and check what is included.
